The BBQ Brawl Season 7 finale came down to an unforgettable showdown among three exceptionally talented chefs: Bob Trudnak from Team Brooke, Morgan Bolling also from Team Brooke, and Tung Nguyen representing Team Bobby Flay. Bob Trudnak ultimately claimed the Master of ‘Cue title, but all three delivered outstanding performances that made the final episode one of the most competitive in the show’s history.

Notably, the entire team of judge Maneet Chauhan was eliminated before the finale, meaning the remaining contestants represented only two captains in the decisive round. For the ultimate test known as The Great BBQ Gauntlet, the Top 3 had to prepare a complete BBQ feast featuring key ingredients including beef brisket, pork shoulder, fresh tomatoes, and stone fruit. What made the judging particularly special and objective was the panel. Instead of celebrity chefs, the nine previously eliminated contestants from Season 7 served as the final judges. This blind tasting format ensured honest feedback based purely on flavor and execution.
Bob Trudnak stayed true to classic competition-style barbecue and executed it at the highest level. His menu featured competition brisket, BBQ baked beans, pulled pork sandwich, and three-potato salad. Judges praised his perfect seasoning, beautifully balanced flavors, and overall championship quality. His menu felt cohesive and refined, ultimately earning him the crown.

Morgan Bolling brought a strong Southern American style to the table. Her standout dishes included biscuit pulled pork and a creative banana pudding with mango. Many fans particularly loved the refreshing dessert twist. However, some judges felt her overall menu lacked the complete unity compared to Bob’s more polished and consistent presentation.
Tung Nguyen impressed everyone with his bold cultural fusion, skillfully blending Cajun, Vietnamese, and classic American BBQ elements. His standout creations included lemongrass brisket, hoisin mango pork bao, kimchi cabbage, and especially the smoked brisket fried rice. The fried rice received the highest praise of the night, with several eliminated contestants calling it the best dish of the entire meal. While some noted that his bao was slightly oily and the fish sauce in one tomato-based sauce was a bit overpowering, Tung’s creativity and innovative flavor combinations earned him tremendous respect and a proud third-place finish as the only Vietnamese-origin chef to reach the finale.
The blind judging format added authenticity and emotional depth to the finale. Bob Trudnak’s well-rounded excellence ultimately secured the victory, but Tung Nguyen and Morgan Bolling proved themselves as formidable competitors who elevated the entire season with their unique styles and passionate approaches to barbecue.
