Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has seen plenty of disasters in the kitchen throughout his television career, but the latest episode of MasterChef delivered one of the grossest moments viewers have seen in years.

During a recent episode of MasterChef: Global Gauntlet, Ramsay was left visibly disgusted after a contestant accidentally served a used bandage inside her dish.

The current season of the cooking competition features contestants representing different global regions while competing for the MasterChef trophy and a $250,000 prize. One of the latest challenges asked contestants to create stadium-style food inspired by their heritage ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Contestant Nora, a 35-year-old former model representing Team Africa, prepared a haddock and maakouda sandwich served with chermoula mayo and Mediterranean salad for the judges.

However, the challenge quickly turned chaotic for her.

Throughout the episode, Nora admitted she was overwhelmed by the pressure in the kitchen and struggled to keep up with the pace of the competition. While preparing ingredients, she accidentally cut her finger and received a bandage from the show medic before continuing to cook.

Later, she reportedly told production staff that one of the bandages had gone missing, assuming it had fallen onto the floor during the chaos.

Unfortunately, that was not the case.

As Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Tiffany Derry tasted Nora’s dish, Derry suddenly noticed something shocking sitting on the plate: the missing bandage.

The judges were immediately horrified.

Ramsay, who had already taken a bite of the sandwich moments earlier, began coughing in disgust before shouting:

“We’re eating bandaids now. What the f**k is going on?”

The moment instantly became one of the most talked-about scenes from the episode.

Nora quickly apologized and explained that she genuinely believed the bandage had fallen elsewhere during the challenge. But the damage had already been done.

The judges made it clear the issue went beyond just the bandage itself. They also criticized the presentation and execution of the dish overall, saying several elements were already not working before the shocking discovery.

Tiffany Derry bluntly admitted she no longer knew how to judge the plate fairly after finding the bandage.

Ultimately, Nora was eliminated from the competition following the disastrous challenge.

Despite the embarrassing incident, Nora later reflected on the experience honestly and with some humor. She acknowledged that serving a bandage to Gordon Ramsay was obviously a catastrophic mistake, while also expressing pride for surviving such a stressful challenge.

Speaking after her elimination, she reportedly joked:

“I served a bandage to Gordon Ramsay. What did I expect?”

Even so, she added that she remained proud of herself for competing on such a high-pressure stage.
