What initially looked like a showdown against competition legend Stefano Secchi turned into a completely different kind of battle, with Stefano stepping into the episode as a judge while Antonia Lofaso became the chef responsible for taking on Bobby’s three culinary Titans. By the end of the night, the margin was almost impossibly narrow: the Titans defeated Antonia 27–26, leaving her just one point away from the $25,000 prize.

The unusual setup helps explain why the episode’s official promotional language was so mysterious. Stefano Secchi was prominently associated with the episode, while the synopsis described the competition legend as someone who “holds all the cards.” But rather than becoming Antonia’s opponent, Stefano took on judging duties, leaving the real battle to unfold between Antonia and Michael Voltaggio, Ayesha Nurdjaja and Brooke Williamson.

The first showdown centered on Red Peppers & Provolone, with Antonia facing Michael Voltaggio. Antonia prepared roasted red pepper crostini with charred caciocavallo, followed by a meatball served with caciocavallo fonduta and roasted pepper sauce. Michael answered with smoked provolone frita, a red pepper and brown butter emulsion, and a red pepper provolone raviolo paired with lamb and red pepper Bolognese.

The judges gave Michael the edge, with Michael earning 7 points and Antonia receiving 6. That meant the Titans immediately moved ahead, 7–6, putting Antonia under pressure from the opening round.

The second round raised the difficulty with Bay Scallops & Yuzu, and this time Ayesha Nurdjaja stepped into the battle against Antonia. Ayesha presented a scallop crudo with yuzu-pickled turnips, avocado, Fresno chile and candied yuzu, followed by a yuzu-butter bay scallop with herbed couscous. Antonia countered with scallop crudo featuring yuzu aioli, serrano-yuzu vinaigrette, celery and fennel, before serving risotto with yuzu brown butter and bay scallops.

This round decisively shifted momentum toward the Titans. Ayesha scored 9 points, while Antonia earned 6, extending the Titans’ advantage to 16–12 heading into the final showdown.

But Antonia still had one opportunity to turn everything around.

The final round featured Ricotta & Tomatoes, putting Antonia against Brooke Williamson. With only four points separating them, the final dishes had the potential to completely change the outcome.

Antonia served ricotta cavatelli with spicy tomato sauce, while Brooke presented ricotta-filled agnolotti with amatriciana sauce and shaved pecorino. After three rounds of increasingly intense competition, the final scores produced the narrowest possible finish.

That result makes the episode particularly painful for Antonia. She came within a single point of defeating all three Titans, but the $25,000 prize remained out of reach. The loss also gives the episode an unexpected twist: despite the buildup surrounding Stefano Secchi, the real drama ultimately came from Antonia’s attempt to survive three separate battles against Bobby’s elite culinary team.

For the Titans, meanwhile, the 27–26 victory keeps their streak alive and proves just how little separated victory from defeat. One more point for Antonia anywhere across those three rounds could have completely rewritten the ending.

Instead, Bobby Flay’s Titans walked away with the win, while Antonia was left wondering how a three-round battle could come down to a single point.
