Paul Flack, the brother of late Love Island host Caroline Flack, has tragically died after being found hanged at his Norwich home, six years after she took her own life

Caroline Flack’s brother Paul paid a heartbreaking tribute to the late Love Island host after she tragically took her own life in 2020. It would become his final ever post on the social media platform before his own death in similar circumstances.

Paul has died at the age of 55, and was found hanged at his home in Norwich on June 21. He was discovered unresponsive and despite attempts to save him, he died at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, three days after his 55th birthday.

An inquest into Paul’s death was opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Monday (June 29). According to a provisional post-mortem examination, the artist and graphic designer died from cardiac arrest due to hanging.

However, coroner Yvonne Blake has said further enquiries were needed before the circumstances surrounding his death could be fully established. The hearing has been adjourned to October 23 while evidence continues to be gathered, according to Eastern Daily Press.

Paul’s final Instagram post was a devastating tribute to his famous sister, who died six years before him in February 2020. On August 15, 2020, he posted a photo of the presenter when she was a child and told her he ‘loved’ her.

Alongside the post, Paul wrote: “This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline x.” Paul is survived by his partner and their two children.

Fans have paid their respects in the comments section of the post following Paul’s own death. One wrote: “R.I.P Paul. I’m so sad for your family.”

Another commented: “I have no words… rest in peace Paul and give your sister a massive hug,” and a third penned: “RIP Paul.”

Paul appeared alongside his and Caroline’s mother Christine and sister Elizabeth in the 2021 documentary Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death. He said in the programme that Caroline was the first thing their family thought about every morning.

Caroline was found dead at her home at the age of 40 on February 15, 2020. A coroner ruled it was a suicide.

At the time of her death, her family said: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”
