Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated 15 years of marriage on April 29.

To mark the occasion, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a new photo—but it was different from the ones we are used to seeing.

Instead of it being a never-before-seen photo of the two of them, this time, they included their three children and two dogs in the shot, taken earlier this month while on Easter break in Cornwall.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are marking their milestone 15th wedding anniversary—and breaking a little tradition in the process.
The Prince and Princess of Wales typically share a photo of just the two of them for their anniversary every April 29, but this year, they included the whole family—children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, who will turn 11 on May 2, and Prince Louis, who just turned 8 last week. The family dog, Orla—a black cocker spaniel—also makes the lighthearted snap, being petted by William as he and his family of five lay in the grass. The family’s newest addition—a 10-month-old puppy, whose name hasn’t been publicly revealed yet—also makes the photo.
The photo was taken when the Wales family was on holiday in Cornwall earlier this month by longtime trusted photographer Matt Porteous, who also photographed Louis’s birthday portrait and shot his birthday video, released by the Prince and Princess of Wales last week.
In the photo released on Wednesday, all are barefoot and all are wearing shorts except for Kate, who wears white pants and a striped navy and white shirt. Kate and Louis hold hands as the family is caught in an unposed, informal moment together. It is a testament to what 15 years of marriage can bring about—not just a rock solid partnership between William and Kate, but a family.

“Celebrating 15 years of marriage❤️ ,” the couple captioned the sweet photo.
William and Kate are expected to celebrate their anniversary privately at their “forever home,” the eight-bedroom mansion Forest Lodge, which the family moved into last year. A source told The Telegraph for a wide-ranging profile of the Prince and Princess of Wales that the couple is “at the start of a new chapter.”

“If continuity and stability is what the monarchy is supposed to give you, you only need to look at this marriage,” a source who knows the couple told the outlet. “Whatever has happened in his life, in her life, the continuity and stability of their relationship has seen them through it. They are exactly the same as they have always been. They’re unshakeable, the two of them.”
