The Season 5 premiere of Bobby’s Triple Threat is adding another major name to an already star-studded culinary showdown.
Buddha Lo is set to serve as a special guest judge in the August 25, 2026 premiere, evaluating the battle between Alex Stupak and Bobby Flay’s Titans.

Lo is already a familiar face to fans of Top Chef, where his highly competitive approach and refined culinary style helped establish him as one of the most formidable chefs in the franchise.
His presence gives the premiere an additional layer of pressure for Stupak.
The visiting chef isn’t simply trying to impress Bobby Flay and the three Titans — Michael Voltaggio, Brooke Williamson and Ayesha Nurdjaja. His dishes will also be evaluated by a chef who understands exactly what it takes to survive under the intense pressure of a high-level cooking competition.
And that makes Buddha Lo’s role particularly intriguing.
Stupak arrives with an impressive reputation of his own, particularly for his modern interpretation of Mexican cuisine. But in this kitchen, reputation alone won’t be enough.
Every dish has to withstand the scrutiny of multiple elite chefs, while Stupak simultaneously attempts to defeat three Titans in direct competition.
For Michael Voltaggio, the situation is even more complicated. The surprise appearance of his longtime friend Stupak already promises an emotional reunion, but once the competition begins, Voltaggio will have to put that friendship aside and focus on winning.
Meanwhile, Lo’s presence could make the judging even more demanding.
The premiere therefore brings together Bobby Flay, three elite Titans, Alex Stupak and Buddha Lo in one kitchen — creating a lineup packed with chefs who are accustomed to competing at the highest level.
For Stupak, the challenge is simple on paper but brutal in practice:
Beat the Titans, impress Bobby Flay and prove his food can survive Buddha Lo’s notoriously high competitive standards.
And with a longtime friend standing on the opposite side of the kitchen, the premiere could become much more personal than anyone expected.
