POOL PUNCH-UP Horror moment Brit girl, 13, is punched in face by Spanish yob & has ‘nose broken’ as huge brawl erupts at hols resort

THIS is the horror moment a 13-year-old Brit girl is punched in the face by a thug in Spain, allegedly leaving her with a broken nose.

Blood-curdling screams broke out by the pool as dozens of holidaymakers jumped in to help the teen.

In the shocking clip, crowds of sunseekers can be seen wrestling before a proper scrap breaks out and one man is seen launching a flurry of punches at a woman in a green bikini.

The chaos is understood to have unfolded after the young girl sat on a lounger at a family resort without realising it was being used by a local clan member.

She was escorted to hospital with blood streaming from her face.

Eye-witnesses told The Sun the scenes playing out were like a “terrorist attack” or “full-blown riot”.

Rather than ask her to move, families told how a yob allegedly began swinging punches at the teenager.

His rogue pals are believed to have piled in and were also hitting out, with stunned Brit holidaymakers trying to protect the girl.

As pandemonium broke out, with drinks flying and glass tumblers breaking, mums screamed for their kids to get out of the pool and sunbathers “thought it was a terrorist attack”.

Police were called to break-up the Wild West-style melee.

An ambulance also attended as officers and hotel staff told other guests they were “too scared” to evict the “group of Spanish gypsies” who caused the mayhem.

Instead the terrified teen and her British family were moved to another family resort after she had been treated at hospital.

Other guests staying at the Hotel Santa Susanna on the Costa Brava told how they had been barricading themselves in their rooms since Wednesday afternoon’s thuggery – too scared to leave for fear of being attacked by the Spanish hooligans.

A source told The Sun: “An innocent girl of 13 was punched in the face by a yob after she sat on an empty lounger.

“She had no idea that it had already been in use by another family.

“He didn’t utter a word, just piled in. It was unbelievable; totally sickening. How could a grown man act like that to anyone, let alone a child.

“In seconds there was a full scale riot, with the Spanish yob’s chums also wading in and throwing punches.

“At this point I heard a man shout ‘Get off my sun chair!’”

They continued: “Brave Brits tried to step in and protect the girl and her family.

“It resembled a saloon bar brawl, but rather than involving drunks this was middle-class families scrapping in their trunks with families watching on in horror.

“The girl was led away with blood streaming from her nose. Women were screaming for their kids to get out the pool. Just before the fight erupted there had been fireworks going off, and lots of people feared there was a terrorist attack ongoing.

“One teenage girl was taken to hospital after suffering facial injuries and others were left with cuts, black eyes and grazes.

“One girl had a broken nose. She had a big sore mess because of all the blood.”

The witness added: “My partner was queuing for drinks, heard the screams and glass breaking, and thought it was another 2015 Tunisia beach-massacre.

“Everyone was screaming ‘Get your kids! Get your kids!’ and grabbing children and running out of the complex.

“The whole thing was chilling. Staff came running and police were called. It soon became evident that there was nothing the authorities were prepared to do.

“One manager told me there was a bunch of ‘Spanish gypsies’ staying, around 30 in total.

“They also came the year before and caused trouble then too. No-one was prepared to turf them out of the hotel for fear of reprisals.

“It’s barbaric that the Brit family were taken elsewhere instead.

“My kids have been traumatised by the whole thing. My daughter put a suitcase behind her door last night for fear of the thugs breaking into our room. We’re all too scared to go out.”

Footage obtained by The Sun showed the immediate aftermath of the attack, beneath umbrellas and in front of a hotel kiosk.

A teen in a green bikini was the target of several yobs, and fell back on the lounger as she was attacked around the head by two men.

Women bravely tried to intervene and hold back the attackers, with a man in orange trunks visibly forced back by sunbathers.

Children watching the fight could be heard screaming in fear.

Later half a dozen cops were filmed at the scene and spoke to witnesses as uneasy holidaymakers looked on.

One guest, too scared to give his details, booked his stay through Love Holidays.

He told The Sun: “The police wanted to take the details of the Brits who broke up the fight. They were too scared to approach the Spanish.

“There was no apology or duty of care from the hotel either. It was as if they wanted to pretend it didn’t happen.

“Kids are terrified and don’t want to go out of their rooms. It has ruined the holiday for all of us.

“There are dozens of us here through Love Holidays, and we want answers as to our safety.”

The five floor, 214-room hotel, a 45-minute drive from Barcelona, offers Brits ‘a fuss-free, all-inclusive break on the Costa Maresme’.

“It vows guests will have a ‘peaceful and relaxed’ stay.

Bosses boast: “Sun loungers and parasols are arranged around the pool area, making it a comfortable spot to unwind during the day. A splash park with water slides is on hand for younger guests.”

The terrifying incident is a dramatic escalation in the so-called “sunbed wars” that have plagued Spain for years.

The Sun has told of repeated instances of tourists armed with towels racing to hog hotel sunbeds.

Footage filmed by a guest at Spring Hotel Bitacora in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, this week showed dozens of people sprinting towards the prime poolside spots.

Last month, another guest at the same hotel could not believe her eyes when she looked out from her balcony window and spotted the guards by the pool, who were stopping people from getting a spot before the official opening time.

Some resorts in Spain have been working to crack down on the annual scramble to reserve prime loungers.

To avoid disputes, hotels are adopting “sticker” systems – which puts a timer on seemingly unoccupied sunbeds – booking apps as well as time limits.

It comes as Spanish protest groups have put up signs at popular beaches in Mallorca to try and keep Brits away from beaches.

A spokesperson for online travel agent Love Holidays, who do not own or operate the hotel, told The Sun: “We’re aware of an incident involving two guests at a hotel in Costa Brava, Spain on 24th June.
