Katie Price sparks family backlash over Lee Andrews’ alleged ‘kidnapping’ claims in Dubai
Katie Price’s fourth husband Lee Andrews has been reported missing in the UAE, with the former glamour model claiming he was kidnapped in Dubai – but his family are unhappy with her posts

Lee Andrews’ family are unimpressed with Katie Price’s social media updates, it has been alleged. Last week, the ex-glamour model took to her online platforms and disclosed that she hadn’t heard from her fourth husband in several days.

The self-styled millionaire had informed his wife that he was journeying from Dubai to the UK to reunite with her. Earlier in the week, he was scheduled to fly from Muscat International to London to join Katie on Good Morning Britain, but failed to show up.

She suggested that pressing business issues had arisen, necessitating his attention. However, presenters Ed Balls and Susanna Reid told Katie that the Foreign Office had confirmed it was aiding a man detained in the United Arab Emirates. The mother-of-five claimed she last spoke to Lee on Wednesday, May 13, and that he was in a van with his hands bound.

But his family have allegedly been left irate by her choice to chronicle the ordeal on social media. Katie, along with his relatives, has been coordinating with the police in the UAE following the submission of a missing person report for Lee.

A family friend, Rebecca, who grew up alongside Lee and his sister Kelly in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, stated that Kelly is spearheading the family and is liaising with Katie and the police, reports the Mirror.

“She is trying to take the strain off her mother, Trisha, and I’m trying to support both of them through this worrying time,” Rebecca told the Daily Mail. She added: “Kelly wasn’t happy with the video Katie put out about him being kidnapped. That blew everything up, and it was unnecessary.”

Rebecca alleged that Lee’s family are “sick with worry,” and Trisha has been reduced to tears, adding that those closest to him “don’t have the money” to jet off to Dubai as his friends and family “work regular jobs”.

Meanwhile, Lee’s mum, psychic medium Trisha Andrews, has also publicly criticised her daughter-in-law in a biting social media post. Beneath a Facebook post promoting her psychic night, one person wrote: “Think everyone needs to leave her [Trisha] alone as she’s not responsible for Price’s drama-queen antics.”

Trisha responded: “Thank you Jane it’s Katy exploiting and I get all the backlash [sic].” Meanwhile, Katie herself has refuted allegations that Lee’s disappearance is a publicity stunt. She said: “I’m really upset everyone thinks I’m in on this. Are you guys actually joking?

“This is not a publicity stunt. This is real. And anyone who thinks that I’m part of this is disgusting. None of his family has heard anything from Lee. His dad, who’s out in Dubai, has heard nothing. We’ve reported him to the British Embassy as a missing person. Everyone who is trying to speculate or make jokes, think of other people’s feelings. It is not nice. It isn’t a game, it is real life.

“This is really happening, and there are real feelings involved here.”

In a conversation with The Sun, Trisha issued a plea to those responsible for Lee’s disappearance. She implored: “Please bring my son back.” When questioned if she believed he had been abducted, she informed the publication: “I don’t know, he could have been. I’ve not seen the video. I don’t know the laws out there but I wouldn’t have thought they’d use cables. Wouldn’t they put handcuffs on?”

Reflecting on Katie’s social media updates, Trisha added: “I think she’s exploiting in general, that’s what I meant She’s always putting things on [social media] isn’t she? As I said, I get on with Katie. She puts too much on [social media].” Trisha hasn’t laid eyes on Lee since 2022 when he was last in the UK. She hasn’t visited him in six years.
