“Keep the noise down!” Glasgow tower block goes viral as booming Alexa shuts down party flat

A party flat in Glasgow has gone viral after neighbours blasted a loud warning from Alexa to “keep the noise down”.
The hilarious clip shows the commotion taking place at the Eccles Street high rise flats in the Springburn area of the city. A booming digital voice, which sounds like an airport tannoy announcement and is believed to be that of the Amazon digital assistant Alexa, can be heard asking residents of a particular flat “to keep the noise down”.
In the video, which has gone viral on TikTok and X, the voice can be heard saying: “Good evening to the residents of the building. A polite reminder that some people sleep at night and wake up early for work.
“Unfortunately the ongoing late-night music and noise coming from flat ** has made it difficult to rest for many nights now. Please show consideration to your neighbours and keep the volume down after quiet hours.

Despite their efforts, our sister title, Glasgow Live, reports that the memo didn’t go down well with the noisy neighbours.
One vieweron TikTok asked how they had managed to create the loud booming voice.
The creator replied that they “May have used Alexa or an AI voice app then blared it through a speaker in the back stairs” before adding that the warning was “on repeat for at least 5 minutes”.
Asked if it had worked, the poster said: “Nah, he came out and started shouting over the veranda asking if they’re trying to get wide.”
The idea attracted plenty of praise, with one person saying “defo need this!! Genius!!!” while another said: “This is why I love glasgow…no passive aggressive s***, just in-your-face aggressive s***.”
