Stacey Solomon has begun showing fans around her new family home, giving followers their first detailed look at the property while uncovering an assortment of unusual belongings left behind by its former occupants.

The 36-year-old television personality recently moved out of the much-loved Pickle Cottage with husband Joe Swash and their family, marking the beginning of what she has described as a major new renovation project.

On Sunday, Stacey started her virtual house tour at the very top of the property, accompanied by her young daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three.

The uppermost level proved to be one of the more unusual areas of the house, as it can only be reached using a ladder.

Once upstairs, Stacey revealed several generously sized bedrooms. The rooms currently feature yellow walls and old fireplaces, which appear to date back to a time when the spaces would have relied on coal for heating.

Another feature that immediately caught Stacey’s attention was the bathroom, where an eye-catching orange suite has survived from an earlier era.

Rather than being put off by the retro colour scheme, Stacey appeared delighted by it and admitted that she was particularly fond of the orange bath.

She later asked her followers whether they thought the distinctive suite deserved to remain as part of the renovation, suggesting she may preserve some of the home’s original and more eccentric characteristics rather than replacing everything.

But the biggest surprises came when Stacey and her family explored one of the storage areas.

The previous occupants had left behind an eclectic collection of objects, turning the family’s first exploration of the room into something resembling a treasure hunt.

Among their discoveries were a vintage tennis racket, riding equipment, dominoes and old pieces of technology.

One object initially caused some confusion when Stacey apparently mistook a vintage piece of filming equipment for something far more alarming.

Her father, David, was amused by her reaction, while the family soon established that the item was an old camera or projector rather than anything dangerous. To their surprise, the vintage equipment appeared still to be functional.

An old television set also proved particularly nostalgic for Stacey.

The unmistakably retro TV reminded her of the 1980s and left her wondering whether it should become one of the items that survives the eventual transformation of the house.

She also sought help from followers identifying what the old domino pieces were made from, continuing the interactive approach she often takes when sharing decorating and DIY projects online.

Stacey told fans she intends to work through the property from the top down, documenting its transformation and involving her social-media audience in decisions about individual rooms.

She has made clear, however, that this house project will come with one important difference from Pickle Cottage.

Although followers will be able to see much of the interior, Stacey does not intend to publicly reveal the exterior of the family’s new home.

She explained that privacy and security concerns experienced toward the end of the family’s time at Pickle Cottage had influenced the decision.

The former Loose Women star said it would be safer not to show the building itself this time, despite her plans to continue sharing the renovation and interior-design process.

The move represents a significant change for Stacey, whose previous Essex home became closely associated with her online presence.

Pickle Cottage, reportedly worth around £1.3 million, featured extensively across Stacey’s social-media content after the family moved there in 2021.

Fans watched her renovate and personalise much of the property over the years, with everything from seasonal decorations and crafting projects to substantial room transformations regularly appearing online.

Leaving it behind has therefore been an emotional adjustment.

Shortly after the move, Stacey admitted that waking up somewhere other than Pickle Cottage felt strange, although she was also visibly enthusiastic about the possibilities offered by the new property.

One of the first images from inside the house showed daughter Rose standing in a largely empty living space featuring an ornate white fireplace with black-and-white marble detailing.

The new property will once again become a major creative project for Stacey, although she has said she has no intention of rushing the process.

Instead, she plans to spend time living in the house and understanding how her family uses each space before committing to major decorating decisions.

She also intends to ask her followers for suggestions throughout the renovation, inviting them to contribute decorating inspiration as well as practical tips and ideas.

The scale of the property means Stacey expects the transformation to be a substantial undertaking.

But the move is about more than decorating.

Stacey and Joe have chosen a home with additional land, providing more room for their family and their growing collection of animals, as well as creating opportunities for further outdoor projects and gardening.

The couple share Rex, Rose and Belle, while Stacey is also mother to sons Zachary and Leighton from previous relationships. Joe has an older son, Harry, from a previous relationship.

For now, the family appears to be in the discovery stage of its new chapter — exploring rooms, deciding which vintage features deserve to stay and uncovering forgotten possessions left behind by the people who lived there before them.

And while the location and outside appearance of their new home will remain deliberately private, Stacey has made it clear that fans will still have a front-row seat as she gradually transforms what she has dubbed her next major “Pickle” project.
