Meghan Markle’s possible return to acting has created a new wave of speculation around her and Prince Harry’s move back to Britain. While their relocation has largely been presented as a family decision involving their children and a closer connection to the UK, new reports suggest there may be another important factor behind the move: Meghan’s attempt to restart her entertainment career.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Meghan is reportedly in early discussions to appear in Netflix’s hit series The Gentlemen, created by Guy Ritchie. Although the talks remain at a very early stage and no official role has been confirmed, the possibility has raised questions about whether Meghan is preparing for one of the biggest professional comebacks of her life.
The reported opportunity would mark a dramatic return to the industry Meghan left behind when she joined the Royal Family.

Sources claimed that Meghan could potentially play the role of the “ultimate temptress” — a glamorous character whose presence creates tension and changes the direction of the story. One source suggested the role would fit Meghan because of the show’s combination of luxury, British style and high-profile production.
The source said:
“The gossip in TV circles is that Meghan could play the ultimate temptress, who puts the cat among the pigeons by seducing an aristocrat.”
If the role happens, Meghan would appear alongside Theo James, who plays Eddie in the series and has been mentioned as one of the actors considered in discussions surrounding the future James Bond role.
For Meghan, this would not simply be another acting opportunity. It would represent a return to the career path she paused nearly a decade ago.
Before becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan was best known for playing Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits. After her final episode aired in 2018 and she entered royal life, she stepped away from acting.
At the time of her engagement interview with Harry in 2017, Meghan explained that she did not view leaving acting as a sacrifice.
She said:
“I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter.”
However, her possible comeback suggests that chapter may not have been permanently closed.
The reported Netflix opportunity is not the only entertainment possibility surrounding Meghan’s return to Britain. The article also claimed that Meghan may be interested in appearing in a major West End production in London.

A former friend reportedly said Meghan had wanted to be involved in West End theatre for many years and would likely begin conversations about possible roles after returning.
Another source from the theatre industry claimed there had been strong rumors that Meghan wanted a serious stage role.
This interest would not be surprising given Meghan’s previous connection to the British theatre world. During her time in the UK, she attended several West End productions with Harry, including Hamilton, Tina: The Musical, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. She also previously served as a patron of the National Theatre.
Another major detail in the report involves a secret UK-based project that may have influenced Meghan and Harry’s decision to return.

Australian journalist Bronte Coy claimed Meghan had been offered a role in an unnamed upcoming British production. According to Coy, the project was “significant” enough to become an important part of the family’s decision-making process.
She explained:
“This is such a key part of the puzzle.”
Coy added that Meghan was reportedly very excited about the opportunity, although details of the project have not yet been revealed.
The report also mentioned that Meghan is expected to make a small appearance in the upcoming US film Close Personal Friends, playing herself alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
Meanwhile, journalist Omid Scobie suggested that Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain had been planned for some time rather than being a sudden decision.
According to Scobie, clues included the reduction of their US office operations and the rebranding of the Archewell Foundation into Archewell Philanthropies.
He said:
“This is definitely a couple that have been looking to make changes, for sure.”
The possible return of Meghan to entertainment creates a complicated new image for the Sussexes. Since leaving royal duties, Meghan has attempted to build a different public identity through business, media projects and lifestyle branding. Returning to acting would represent another shift — one that reconnects her with the career that made her famous before the monarchy.
For supporters, this could be viewed as Meghan reclaiming an important part of herself. For critics, it may raise questions about whether her royal connection remains central to attracting new opportunities.
Either way, Meghan’s possible move back into acting suggests that the return to Britain may involve more than family reunification. It could also be the beginning of a carefully planned effort to rebuild her position in the entertainment world.
