For years, Tyler Florence has been known as a celebrity chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and longtime Food Network personality. Now, he’s taking on a mission that extends far beyond the kitchen.
The The Great Food Truck Race host has announced a new partnership with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of people living with food allergies.
A Personal Cause
The collaboration carries special meaning for Florence, who revealed that he experienced multiple food allergies as a child before eventually outgrowing them.
Today, according to FARE, food allergies affect more than 33 million Americans, including nearly 6 million children, making them one of the country’s most common chronic health conditions.
Reflecting on the partnership, Florence said:
“Food is one of the most powerful ways we connect with one another, and everyone deserves the opportunity to participate safely and confidently.”
He added that he is honored to help advance FARE’s mission of supporting individuals and families managing food allergies every day.
Joining The Organization’s Leadership
The partnership goes beyond simply serving as a public ambassador.
Florence will also join FARE’s Board of Directors, where he’ll help guide the organization’s work in:
- Food allergy research
- Public education
- Advocacy initiatives
- Community outreach
FARE President and CEO Sung Poblete said Florence’s personal experience, combined with his influence in both the culinary and entertainment industries, makes him an ideal advocate for increasing awareness.
Honored At Annual Gala
Florence will also be recognized during FARE’s annual fundraising gala on October 21 in New York City.
The event’s theme, “Creating a Table for All: The Time is Now,” reflects the organization’s goal of making shared meals more inclusive for people living with food allergies.

During the gala, Florence is expected to speak about ensuring that everyone can safely participate in one of life’s most meaningful traditions: gathering around the table.
A New Chapter Beyond Television
While Florence continues to be one of Food Network’s most familiar faces through series including The Great Food Truck Race, Worst Cooks in America, and Tyler’s Ultimate, this new role reflects a broader purpose.

By combining his lifelong passion for food with his own childhood experience of living with food allergies, Florence hopes to help create a future where shared meals are safer, more accessible, and more welcoming for millions of families.
FARE says additional details about the partnership and upcoming initiatives will be announced in the months ahead.
