Celebrity chef and television icon Guy Fieri is officially making his move into the world of NASCAR.

Legacy Motor Club announced that the Emmy Award-winning host has joined the organization as a strategic owner, becoming the latest high-profile celebrity to invest in motorsports. The move places Fieri alongside well-known sports and entertainment figures such as Michael Jordan and David Letterman, who have also expanded into racing team ownership.

In a statement released by the team, Fieri explained that his passion for racing made the decision an easy one.

Known worldwide as the “Mayor of Flavortown,” Fieri has long been recognized as both a food personality and a lifelong car enthusiast, frequently driving his iconic 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

While Fieri’s arrival adds significant star power off the track, Legacy Motor Club is also looking to continue improving its on-track performance. Driver Erik Jones, behind the wheel of the No. 43 Chevrolet, has enjoyed one of his strongest seasons in recent years and currently sits inside the top 15 in the NASCAR Cup Series standings. Meanwhile, teammate John Hunter Nemechek continues working to move the No. 42 team further up the championship order.
